Steve Odierno, a beloved member of the St. Joseph Regional High School community has died. The St. Joseph Regional High School (SJR) community is mourning the heartbreaking deatg of Steve Odierno ’93, a cherished alumnus, dedicated Director of Marketing, and proud father. Steve passed away in April 2025, leaving behind a legacy of commitment, warmth, and brotherhood that has deeply touched the lives of all who knew him. SJR shared the somber news on Facebook with an emotional tribute:
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved colleague and friend, Steve Odierno ’93, Director of Marketing and proud father of Steven Odierno ’23, and Katherine Odierno ’25 (IHA). Steve was a devoted member of the SJR community whose love for our school and its mission was felt by all who knew him. He lived the spirit of brotherhood with warmth, loyalty, and heart—and his absence will be felt deeply by all of us.”

Steve’s passing is a tremendous loss not only to the St. Joseph Regional High School family but also to the greater Wyckoff, New Jersey community. His devotion to education, marketing, and above all, his children and family, was a defining part of his life. Steve Odierno graduated from St. Joseph Regional High School in 1993 and returned to his alma mater years later to serve as the school’s Director of Marketing. His professional dedication to SJR was driven by more than just duty—it stemmed from a genuine love for the school’s mission, values, and community. His work helped shape the school’s identity and fostered a welcoming environment for prospective students and their families.
As a proud father, Steve poured his heart into supporting his children—his son, Steven Odierno, graduated from SJR in 2023, and his daughter, Katherine Odierno, is currently a student at the Academy of the Holy Angels (IHA). Steve’s commitment to their academic and personal development was unwavering. His family was his world, and he was a constant, loving presence in their lives. Those who had the privilege of knowing Steve describe him as someone who lived by the principles of integrity, loyalty, and kindness. He embodied the very spirit of the SJR brotherhood—a foundation of mutual respect, support, and enduring camaraderie. Whether he was organizing school events, collaborating with staff, or simply sharing a laugh in the hallway, Steve’s warmth and positivity left an impression on everyone he met.

In a tribute to Steve’s life and impact, SJR will begin the school day with a special Mass on Monday, April 28. Students are asked to wear a dress shirt and tie in his honor—no shorts will be permitted—as a mark of respect and unity.
